the power of words

Words are powerful. They're easy to just pour out from your heart when you can't hold them in anymore. The longer you wait to say something, the more impact your words will have when you finally get it out. Some words come out in anger and frustration. Others just manage to escape as a whisper. Either way you let them out, they are going to have effect.

It's hard to think before you speak. It's hard to hold down angry words and tell yourself they're not the right ones. It's hard to not to yell and get mad when someone is testing your patience. But in the end, it is worth it.

² Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, ³ because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. ⁴ Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. {James 1:2-4}
