Sad AG News (please read)

Hi everyone, I have some really sad news.

Less than an hour ago, my Dad came home from work and gave me a letter from AG. I was so excited because I had asked them to consider a rewigging service in the Doll Hospital Plan (which they do not have, as I saw,) because Abby's (my MAG's (My American Girl's) hair was really gross. I was going to post about it but I couldn't really get to it because I've been busy with my homeschooling, we've been at it for like weeks.) I used a dog grooming brush with plastic balls on the tops of the bristles instead of wire or metal ones, and it just made her hair look thin and. . .UGLY, really. I love her, but. . .

Anyway, I tore open the letter and was super happy and sat on my mom's bed to read it to her.
There's no good news, I'm sorry to say. Only bad.

Here is what the letter said:

Dear Hannah,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write. We are happy to hear you love playing with your American Girl dolls. Knowing that they bring you so much happiness makes all our hard work and caring worthwhile! (This is not part of the letter, but while reading this, I was almost sure that they were going to say, "Although we don't have plans for a rewigging service, we will consider this an option." You know, something like that. They did this to me once when I sent an email.)

While we appreciate confidence in us to replace your doll's wig, we currently have no plans to offer this a service in our Doll Hospital. We're sorry if this causes any disappointment, but want you to know that if you decide to replace her head, we will be happy to help. Please know that Doll Hospital Admission Forms can be printed from our website at americangirl.com.

We thank you for writing, Hannah, and hope you can have many more fun times with your doll!

Yes, I know that it was probably a fat chance that they would have done it, (given a rewigging service,) but I still thought that they'd consider it.

I don't think I'm going to get her a new head. That is pretty pricey, ($39, to be exact,) and right now I'm saving for Kit, so I don't think I'm going to make any changes to her any time soon.

Oh well. I am happy that they wrote back, but I am a little bit sad too, at the fact that Abby probably will never have another new wig.

What do you think of this? Have you ever written to AG? I would love to know! :)

~Hannah

  1. It seems odd to me too that AG doesn't offer re-wigging. I know you can buy doll wigs online that are AG size, and it's actually supposed to be relatively easy to do yourself. I've seen tutorials for it , but I can't remember where off the top of my head.

I love comments; thanks so much for leaving me one! All I ask is that you keep them clean and respectful; so please no 'OMG's or use of the Lord's name in vain. Thanks :)
