thank you, blogger

First of all, I'd like to thank Blogger for deleting my American Girl post for me yesterday. Blogger, you are amazing and never fail to cheer me up just when I need it.

(^^That was said sarcastically, but I know you wouldn't have figured that out, so that's why I said that. NOT.)

Anyway, I suppose that I should redo my post for y'all. Before that, though, thank you so much for the sweet comments you left on my previous post. They meant a great deal to me. <3

Anyway, this is the post redone.

---

Okay. So, as you all have probably seen the new American Girl stuff, if you are American Girl fans. If you have not seen the new American Girl stuff, then go look at it over here.

Well, to me, their new items are just okay, though they came out with some cute things. Especially their new dolls. I'm not crazy about everything, but here are the items I have on my wishlist (except for #39):

This doll. is. amazing. <3 I'd name her Hazel or Coco. It may sound a little bit strange... But oh well. (Her number is "#55", in case you needed to know that. ;))
Kanani's new "Party Dress" or whatever you call it. The sandals are... Trendy. I don't like them, but I do like the rest of the outfit.

These "high-heels" are a little too old for a ten-year-old, as most of my dolls' ages are. I don't like to wear heels much, and if I do, they're pretty short. But these are still cute.

These boots are one word: Lanie. Lanie wants these very badly.

Perhaps I should go check on the other laptop. She could be there ordering them... With my money...
And these, for Abby, mostly. Finally, some doll keens. ;) (How many times have I said, "I LOVE DOLL SHOES!"? Well, maybe not that many, but I do love doll shoes, if you didn't notice...)

Do you like the new American Girl items that were just released? Which were your favorites? Do tell!

I have a lot more favorites that I could share here, but decided not to. Most of them are just older outfits. But I still love them anyway. (I wouldn't mind getting one (or a thousand) of everything American Girl sells!)

Anyway, I hope this post is more humorous, unique, and American Girl-related than my previous ones. Because, after you all mentioned it, I noticed that my posts are maybe a bit too similiar and serious. I'll try to be funnier. Promise.

I hope you all have a lovely afternoon!

is something wrong with me?

Every time I log into my Blogger account, my heart sinks when I see no comments, no anything. I've been beginning to wonder, is something wrong with me?

Honestly. If there is anything wrong with me, my blog, or my posts, please tell me. I used to get a few comments every few days. Now, it's been days (maybe even weeks?) and no comments.

So, if there is anything that is wrong with me or my posts, please let me know. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on this, really.

Please word your thoughts nicely. Mean comments will be removed.

the winner

Last week, I drew two giveaway winners (for the purses/handbags I was giving away): Caroline and Rachy.

Well, since I gave Rachy a deadline and she never responded, I picked another winner, and the winner is . . .

RACHEL!

Congratulations, Rachel! (By the way, I know it's weird that I picked out... Two Rachels. I don't know how that happened. But it did.)

But, Rachel, I sent you an email and will mail out your bag ASAP! :)

Hope y'all have a great evening!

ps. i'm sorry if it seemed unfair that i drew another winner, or if it seemed like i was picking favorites when i drew any of the winners. i didn't choose any winners purposely, and they were picked completely randomly. this was the only fair thing i could really do. so, i'm sorry if i seemed/seem unfair.

new signature

I know this is my second post of the day, but I just had to show you my new signature that I created with GIMP. :) Ya like it? Feedback is appreciated. ;)

opaw and photos of lanie

First of all, I apologize for not doing OPAW (I decided to call it One Photo a Week - thanks, Priya, the one who suggested the name! =) ) lately, and promise that I will do everything in my power to do it once a week.

So now, I'm going to show you my photo for this week, before I forget. Even though I'm a little late . . .

i'm quite proud of the focus here. even though blogger affected the quality horribly. *sigh*

I took this photo a few nights ago, when my brother Eric, Dad and I were outside. Dad was playing basketball, I was photographing (with Lanie as my model), and Eric was zooming by on his bike. Then I saw the beautiful sunset, and I knew that I had to get a photo of it. So I put Lanie's arm in it to add some pizazz. ;)

And just for fun, here's the same photo, only with the focus on the sky.

yes. again, horrible quality . . .  :(

But I think you get the idea. ;) It was a very pretty evening, and perfect for photographing. So I suppose I will add just a few more photos from that evening to this post.

lanie was photographing herself in this photo. lanie, let go of the camera!
horribly-quality (but still sweet) photo of lanie examining one of our solar lights, which she thought was a solar panel.
lanie has a few tiny scuff marks on her, which you can't really notice unless you look hard. still, though, they are there. (the following photos of lanie sort of are...weird and creepy. so watch out!)

Sorry for the weird-ness and creepiness of the last three photos. I wanted to photograph the barely-visible scuff marks, but didn't really pay attention to the odd angles of all of the photos. :P

I guess that's about it for now, and I'm sorry for not posting about my dolls lately. I'll try to more often, I promise. :)

By the way, I really hate to say this, but Rachy (the second giveaway winner of the two handbags I gave away) has not emailed me, so I am going to have to announce another winner. I am very, very sorry, but it's the only fair thing I can do, and I'd rather do that than have no one win the second bag at all. So I will announce the winner tomorrow (unless I break my leg...or am someplace else).

I hope you all have a great Friday and weekend!

maeve's (awesome) giveaway

Maeve over at Platinum Dream is hosting a giveaway currently! She's giving away a blog designing package from Beauty Blog Designs worth $80! Wow. Just go over here to enter, and make sure to follow her blog, too. You won't be disappointed!

By the way, I'm sorry if you all think that when I drew my giveaway winners, I was picking favorites. I did not pick any of the giveaway winners on purpose. I hope you believe me, because it's true. I promise that I drew the winners honestly and was not unfair.

I hope you all have a good evening! :)

17 June, 2011

finally, the giveaway winner.

Right now, I am kicking myself (extra-hard) for never drawing the giveaway winner.

You may be asking, "Er, what giveaway winner?"

That's just it. Last March (late March), I hosted a giveaway giving away two very cute handbags from Target. And I never annnounced the winners (I was giving away two handbags). I drew the winners, but never got around to announcing their names and shipping out the bags.

First I want you to know how sorry I am. I can't believe that I let such an enormous matter just slip from my hands like a wet bar of soap, and go to the back of my mind. It was just like I was holding a wet bar of soap that slipped into a bucket of water. And until now, I haven't realized how impatient you must have gotten.

So, I truly apologize for being so irresponsible and never announcing the winners. I promise never to do such a thing again. Trust me, I have learned my lesson. And I hope you forgive me.

---

With that being said, it is time to announce the winners. Their entry (or entries) were written on slips on paper, and drawn from a bowl randomly. I would have used "random.org" but unfortunately I don't know how that works, even though I have tried. :P

So, the winners are . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

(I am increasing the suspense!)

Caroline and Rachy! Congrats, girls!! :)

I have yet to send you both an email, so that will have to wait till tomorrow morning, and I will try to ship out the bags asap (very, very soon). Caroline, I'll be sending you an email, and Rachy, since you can't give out your email, we both agreed that you would email me (just shoot me an email at dolldreaming@aol.com!) so only I would know your email.  You have until Sunday at Midnight Central time to email me. If you do not contact me by that time, I will have to pick another winner. I am very sorry if that seems unfair, but that's your deadline.

Thanks. :)

---

So, that about wraps it up! I'm going to have to be in bed soon, as it's already 9:30. ;)

Thanks for reading, and again, I'm sorry for not announcing the winner sooner.

Goodnight! :)

Hannah

blogger is changing.

After typing out several dramatic opening sentences to this (sad) post, I finally just decided to open up with the sentence "After typing out several dramatic opening sentences to this (sad) post, I finally just decided to open up with the sentence "After typing out several dramatic opening sentences to this (sad) post, blah blah blah blah blah."

Anyway. All day, I have been trying to delete my header (sound a bit crazy?) and install a new header using an HTML code. And the worst of it? Blogger won't let me delete my header and install a new header using an HTML code.

I found an adorable summer-y kit for blog designing and decided to use it. In about an hour, I had a decent template and decided to install it.

Why did I want to install my blog design after installing a different one previously? Why didn't Blogger let me save my changes to my template? Well, apparently, Blogger is switching layouts and is putting in a new thingymabobber that allows you to NOT edit HTML codes.

The whole stoy is that Blogger has been planning this for a while, and they are excited to release it. Only those who have "Blogger in Draft" as their default dashboard have discovered this, while many others haven't a clue.

I checked out BD (Blogger in Draft) and realized, after checking out a Wordpress sample blog, that the soon-to-be-installed Blogger layout is very similiar to the Wordpress layout. With that in mind, most of you Wordpress users know that you are only allowed to edit CSS (cascading style sheets) on Wordpress. That is how it will be with Blogger. No more editing all of that confusing (but to me, and many others, exciting and mysterious) HTML. Instead, Blogger users will be forced to use cookie-cutter templates for their blogs, rather than creating their own designs.

---

So, what do you think about all of this? Personally, I am angry, frustrated, and very sad at the same time. Blogger is the only HTML edit-able site that I know of, and I've stayed with Blogger for ever since I started blogging. From in 2009 to now, I've been with Blogger, and have always enjoyed editing HTML. But now, the idea of not being to edit it anymore is shocking to me.

---

However, I'm not sure if my trouble with removing a header is caused by Blogger switching layouts. Perhaps it's just something wrong with the template or something wrong with my blog. But if you have any idea what I'm doing wrong, it would mean a lot to me if you would make a suggestion in a comment. Thanks!

So please, bear with me while I try to get my blog all straightened out and stuff. And by the way, over here you can sign a petition asking Blogger to let us edit HTML. Please do sign it. It would mean a lot.

Thank you. <3

So, what is your opinion on all of this? Do share!

a photo-shoot with abby!

Hi, everyone!

A few days ago, on a windy morning, I took Abby out on my front porch for a photoshoot. :)

 {The sky...}
(I'm sorry it's sideways!)

I changed Abby's outfit in the last photo. :)

So, did you like the photos? Which one was your favorite?

I will try to post more about my dolls from now on. ;)

---

I have a few updates for you all. Number one is that we got Netflix on the Wii, and we're really excited about it! We have watched a few movies already. :)

We were just about to watch a movie on Netflix last night, but it wasn't available. :(

And the second update? Well, I hate saying this, but lately I've been getting some mean comments on my blog. I deleted them, but they are still coming. So please don't leave any mean comments on my blog, and please word your complaints, etc. nicely.

Thanks.

---

I have to go now, but I will be back soon. :)

See y'all later! :D

new look!

So, as you all probably noticed, I just got a new blog design! =D I did everything by myself (not trying to brag there!), and think I have a reason to be proud of myself. ;) I made a gadget where all of the blog buttons of my favorite blogs scroll through, which also really excites me - I can get rid of my 'links' page. Yay.

So, do you like the new look? Why or why not? Is there anything you don't like? If so, what is it?

EDIT :: Please be nice about everything while commenting. I've already gotten a few mean comments about my blog design, so please, if you don't like something about my blog design, (or anyone else's - this probably doesn't make sense that much, but still...) please say it nicely, like "I wouldn't chose the colors myself, but they are okay!" Thanks.

happy birthday, leanna!

Today is a very special day.

It is . . . My friend Leanna's birthday today!!

(I know it says Sophie on it...but I know you love cats, Leanna, so when I saw this I thought "This one!" Can we all just pretend that "Sohpie" isn't there??)

But yes. Today is Leanna's birthday.

And as a present to you, Leanna, I am doing an acrostic for you. :)

Loving - Leanna is very loving. Example: She cares about all of her friends equally, or, in other words, "loves" them equally.
Easy-going - Leanna is really relaxed and calm, and takes it easy.
Always very kind - Leanna is very kind, and she tries hard to be patient and friendly.
Nifty - Leanna is very nifty, especially when it comes to doing stuff with dolls and computers.
Nautical - Leanna loves swimming and Hawaii! (Okay, okay. That sounds like the most ridiculous thing I've ever said, but it is a little true...and I couldn't really think of anything else? So, I'm sorry!)
Artsy - Leanna is very artsy!

Happy birthday, Leanna! I hope you have a really, really awesome day. <3

{Make sure to visit her blog, too! Click HERE.}

all messed up again...

My blog design just got 'all messed up' a few days ago when I tried to put a header (1391 x 424) and it sort of got my blog looking terrible.
I tried everything I could - resizing, shrinking to fit, not shrinking to fit...and yet nothing worked.
Does anyone have tips on this?
I've seen a lot of blogs with headers with a width of 1024 x 424...so help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you. :)

summer vacation

Summer is finally here. Hot weather, barbaques, fireworks -- summer is probably my favorite season.

I love taking vacations. I love the hot weather. I love going to the beach or the nearby lake and tubing or running blissfully through the waves without a care in the world. I love swimming in pools, eating ice cream, drinking soda, and having fun. I love no school, saving my moneny too buy a lot of things I've been wanting...

The list goes on and on.

But do you know where I am traveling this summer? I'm going to see my aunt in later July, and we'll be stopping at the American Girl Place Washington, D.C. (not in existence yet...but it is being built at the moment) and I will most likely be buying a lot of things, including a NEW DOLL!

That doll is probably going to be #39.

Anyway, I am very, very excited!

---

But even if I were not traveling (FYI, I am traveling by plane. Yay!), I still LOVE summer. It's so much fun to go swimming; that alone is awesome. I can't wait to go to the lake tomorrow to go tubing, even though I got (momentarily) knocked out by flying off the tube not very long ago. :) I don't think I can handle big waves wake (yes, wake) well.

But I am so excited for summer. My mom's birthday is on the 21st. My brother's birthday is on the 13th of next month, and my dad's is the day after. Too bad my birthday isn't during the summer, or I would certainly go tubing in the lake. :) (It's too cold to go tubing in May!)

Even though you certainly know by now, I'll say it one more time...

I love summer.

Do you?
