Hey, guess what?

I won an iPad just this week. An iPad 2. (!!)

Yes. And I'm posting about it on April Fool's day. I know, it's crazy. I was making this post the day I won, scheduling it for April Fool's day, because wouldn't it be a little funny to fool people into thinking I won on April Fool's day? But I still changed the post.

I entered a giveaway a little bit ago for an iPad 2. I'm not even sure why I entered, because the chances that I would win were so slim. But I used every.extra.entry.possible. And I prayed that I'd win every.single.day. Yes, I know it sounds like I was desperate, but who wouldn't want an iPad? Seriously.

I won, and posted about it on April Fool's day, so my readers probably won't even believe me.

And I am very very excited. (:

bluebonnets & a note on the Hunger Games.

 

While driving back from the lake, we pulled over and I took some pictures of bluebonnets.

And I photographed a bee. :)

 

*sigh* I just love bluebonnets...and wildflowers in general;)

Also, something I'd like to share about the Hunger Games...after reading Willow's post, I can safely say that I'm not a fan. All my friends were seeing the movie, and I kind of wanted to see it. But reading the excerpt from the book included in Willow's post affected me and my opinion of the series and the movie, even though I haven't read/seen either. I'm not trying to offend any of you guys who love THG, and I don't hate fans, of course.

What do you think about the Hunger Games?

You know what I found out today? People I know (well, I don't really know them, but..well, you know..) in real life look exactly like some blog authors. It's kinda weird. And creepy.

what's new

our garden

We just started a garden. Part of it will hopefully be used as a new pen for our rabbit, Honey, so he can hop outside in fresh air. :)

Remember Bailey? If you don't, she's a doll I "rescued" from Craigslist over a year ago. Her hair was a mess, her limbs were loose, one eye was silver. There was the number "4" written on her foot with a permanent marker (which I rubbed acne cream on...it eventually faded, and now you can't even tell it was there!).

Anyway, we stopped at a doll store last Friday (with Bailey) and picked up a blond wig to see if it would fit her. Miraculously, it did, and I bought it for only about $15. It was normally $25, but the store was going out of business, and so we got a discount. Here are some pictures of her new hair.

ps. I'm thinking about renaming her Autumn..what do you think?

I know this is kind of weird, but I've never really liked spring. Maybe it's because that's when it always gets hot where we live (yes, it gets hot before summer). But I don't really mind the weather, and I do like spring break. (:

This is going to sound so cliche. Ignore how it sounds, please. 'Cause even I know I'm probably going to think "ugh. cheesy." when I read what I'm about to write. 

You know what I was just thinking about? How we take small, ordinary things for granted. I know this is really cliche, but it's true. I think that we all take something simple, such as small acts of kindness from our family members, for granted. It's so easy to take things for granted, but without those things think of how different life would be. Just think for a minute. Those small moments, maybe not as...perfect as you'd like them to  be, but they were still there. And they matter. Even just jumping on the trampoline with your siblings, or browsing through bookshelves at the library and finding what you were looking for. That feeling you get when you first gaze into the cover of a book you're itching to read. Small(er) moments are special. I don't ever want to forget them. :)

I can't really figure out why I can't figure out what to post about.

Maybe it's because I'm sorta indecisive. 

Perhaps it's because I haven't been in the mood to write lately.

So I'm sorry for not posting anything amazing lately. I'm just going to relax and enjoy the rain and spring break. Hopefully I'll be a bit more inspired in a few days. :)

I have a certain writing project up my sleeve that I'll hopefully get to unveil sometime on here. I did a post on it a while ago, but I took down that post because I just didn't feel comfortable with it up. Sorry! Although I'll probably post about it someday soon. :)

I haven't been taking a ton of pictures lately, but I went outside and took some on Friday. It was all bright and sunny. Someone I know in Colorado has snow. Wind and snow.

I'm currently reading Inkheart. It's a really good book about a book that sort of..comes to life, I guess. It's kinda hard to explain, but I still really like it. There's also Inkspell and Inkdeath, and I hope to read all three. ;)

I have such good friends. I couldn't have asked for better ones. :) That is all.
